Like any major city, Houston has amusement parks. The largest and most popular of these is Astroworld, located across the freeway from Reliant Park and the Astrodome. Waterworld is also connected to Astroworld and is included in the price of admission. Because of the nature of Houston's weather - really hot and really humid - there are several water parks from the above Waterworld, to Splashtown to Adventure Bay and The Reef.
Astroworld and Waterworld:
9001 Kirby Dr.
Houston, TX 77054

Astroworld is a Six Flags theme park located across the freeway from the Astrodome and Reliant Park. It is the premiere theme park in Texas and has tons of great rides. There are almost always specials going on so that admission is reasonable for the whole family. Also included in the price of admission is access to Waterworld, a water theme park designed to take the heat away from the hot summer months in Houston.
Splashtown:
21300 IH 45 N.
Spring, TX 77373
(281) 355-3300
Splashtown is another Six Flags theme park located in Houston Texas. It is the largest water park in southeast Texas. It has more rides than Waterworld, more water than Adventure Bay and more fun all around than any other water park in Houston. Rides are catered to both adults and children and with competitive pricing makes it a very appealing place to go during the summer.
Adventure Bay:
13602 Beechnut
Houston, TX 77083
281-498-SWIM
Adventure Bay is a water park designed as a slide water park with most of the attractions being rides. Where parents can take their kids and let them have a great time passing those long summer months. It is the only water park in Houston that includes an UPHILL water coaster. Quite a feat of physics that, but a fantastic ride. There are thrill rides such as the "Gulf Stream" or parents can take their children down the "Rio Lento" or Lazy River.
The Reef
4800 Schurmier Rd.
Houston, TX 77048
(713) 756-9388
The Reef, unlike Splashtown and Adventure Bay, is more like a lake with fun activities. It is a natural lake with living fish. It is a 20 acre lake with grass, trees, picnic areas, volleyball courts, an 800 yard swim course, scuba diving, a family beach, a children's activity beach and docks.
